Professional wedding photographer Siobhan Hegarty, a.k.a. shpfoto.com. Originally from Ireland, now based in Umbria. Shpfoto offers wedding photography throughout Tuscany in central Italy.

Tuscany (Toscana) is a beautiful and popular tourist destination in Italy, and is located in central Italy, along the Mediterranean coast. There are many reasons to visit Tuscany for your wedding, Renaissance art in Florence, eating Tuscan food and tasting the excellent local wines.

One of the most famous regions is Chianti, a popular spot for Tuscany destination weddings along with neighbouring Montalcino and Montepulciano.

Tuscany has two very diverse faces – the art cities such as Florence, Siena, Lucca and Pisa on one hand, and the countryside on the other. The small towns, villages, castles, villas and vineyards of Tuscany make a welcome change from the traffic and noise of some of the larger Tuscan cities. Wherever you choose to have your wedding in Tuscany you are guaranteed a beautiful backdrop for your wedding photography.

What We Do

Siobhan will normally come to the brides hotel or apartment about 45 mins before the wedding ceremony. Siobhan likes to capture the little moments getting ready, make-up, dresses, etc. These shots work very well in black and white and are a great start to the wedding coverage.

Next she normally goes onto the location of the wedding ceremony to get some shots of the groom and wedding party before the bride arrives, time permitting. The wedding ceremony next, and after it is up to you, whatever you want to do. Siobhan will finish up coverage before you sit down for your meal. If you would like Siobhan to stay for all or part of the reception after the meal, dancing etc. then ask us to quote.

When you book your wedding photography in Tuscany with Siobhan, she will discuss every aspect of the day with you. She is always happy to accommodate any requests if at all possible.

Notes on Montage Wedding Albums

Our Montage Wedding Albums are available in several styles. You can view the different groups which are listed under the Wedding Albums link in the navigation bar at the top of the page. There are different prices for each group and they are,

Group 1 – €1450.00
Group 2 – €1550.00
Group 3 – €1550.00
Group 4 – €1650.00

Prices listed above are for 30x40cm, 60 page Montage album and include courier delivery of the finished album to your home address. Travel expenses are not included.

* Notes on Travel Expenses for Tuscany Weddings:

We will give you a quotation for travel expenses when you inquire about your wedding. You can get a good idea if you use Google maps and get directions from Acquasparta to your wedding destination. For wedding destinations more than 250km from Acquasparta, our base, there is an additional fee of €100.00 as Siobhan will then need travel the day before and pay for accommodation. If you find this confusing, please don’t be put off, just Contact us for a detailed quotation, we are always happy to negotiate.

Example:
If your wedding is in Siena, Tuscany,
Siena is 170km from Acquasparta
Total 340km x 50 cents = € 170.00 travel expenses will be added to the base price.

General Notes:

All of your original high resolution wedding images shot by Siobhan on the day will be colour corrected, if needed by our professional in house digital specialist and minor digital correction will be performed. All images are ready for printing, up to and over A3 size. We create 2 viewing galleries on the DVD for your ease of viewing, one Colour gallery and one B&W gallery. The high resolution images are only supplied in colour, your local print lab will produce B&W prints from these files when asked.

Wedding album and book sizes and types listed here may change, but not to an inferior product, size or quality. Your CD(s) will be posted to your home address normally about a week or two after your wedding day. Web galleries will be created and put on-line within a few weeks after your wedding day.

Cortona Weddings

Wedding photographer Siobhan Hegarty is originally from Ireland, now based in Umbria. Shpfoto offers wedding photography in the beautiful Tuscan hill town of Cortona in central Italy.

Cortona, a little jewel of a Tuscan hill town, set high above Lago Trasimeno is just a short distance from the Umbrian border with Tuscany. Made famous by the writings of Frances Mayes in her wonderful book Under a Tuscan Sun and subsequent books.

We are both huge fan’s of Cortona and visit the town whenever we get a chance. Indeed, it was one of the reasons we took our first holiday to this part of Italy, and fell in love with Cortona and its surroundings which finally led to us moving to Umbria!

Siobhan has photographed many weddings in Cortona, and you would be hard pressed to find a more idyllic spot for your wedding and backdrop for your wedding photography. Cortona has some first class ristoranti and trattoria, lovely cafés, absolutely stunning views from almost any viewpoint and a beautiful main piazza.

So, you have decided to have your wedding in Beautiful Italy, we hope that we can help you with one important aspect of your wedding planning, your photography.

Siobhan Hegarty is a professional wedding photographer from Ireland, now living and working in Umbria, Italy, she photographs weddings throughout Rome city, Lazio, Tuscany and Umbria in central Italy.

During our years photographing weddings in Ireland and Italy, we have learned that every wedding is unique and every bride wants her day to be just perfect, just the way she dreamed it would be. That is why we tailor our services personally around Your Wedding day and Your wishes.

At shpfoto we tailor our services to suit your requirements, you can have just the photography on the day and receive all the original images and copyright or you can have a unique wedding album created in a range of different styles, it is up to you.

Siobhan’s candid and relaxed style of Italian wedding photography will capture the typically unnoticed moments that highlight your wedding and show the emotions of this memorable day. Siobhan’s style of photography is ‘reportage’ rather than the staged, set-up shots of old, and she works quickly and unobtrusively.

To secure your date we ask for a Non-Refundable deposit, this will range from €50.00 to €200.00, depending on the photography option you choose, the balance is due on or before the day to be paid in full.

Your Wedding Photography

A basic outline of what we do on your wedding day

We like to start coverage at the brides hotel/apartment to capture those moments of madness before she leaves for the ceremony. Candid black and white shots of the mayhem that is most bride’s wedding morning. Next the ceremony where we get reportage / casual shots of your guests mingling before the bride arrives. We shoot the grooms-men at the church before the bride arrives, then the ceremony.

After the ceremony (depending of your plans of course) we like to sneak the bride, groom and bridal party off to a location usually en-route to the reception for some private shots, (we will keep you no longer than half an hour). The wedding party shots can be taken at the church or reception, weather permitting. We finish up just before you and your guests sit down to your meal.

As mentioned before, we do what YOU want. We do not like setting shots up, apart from the family and portrait shots which require a bit of organising. We do not take hours getting the ‘Perfect Shot’. We work quickly and casually, after all its Your wedding day and we believe that most couples these days do not want to spend it posing for hours, missing their guests and getting board. Candid relaxed shots of your day are far more interesting than those staged, cardboard shots of tradition, and we believe they tell more of a story.

You will receive ALL Original Images that we shoot on your day in high-resolution files on DVD. You can then have them printed as you like when you get home. We can also supply you with a full professional wedding album or Wedding Book. We offer digital montage images that we create in-house and are unique to each wedding.

A guide to planning your wedding photography

It is very important to be clear as to what specific photos you will want on the day. A lot of people are happy to have their immediate families and parents, however as every bride has different plans you may want extra photos of certain friends or relatives. If this is the case, to avoid disappointment after the wedding I must get a list from you. I will be meeting people for the first time and I will need help rounding people up. This is normally the job of the best man and it is also advisable to give a list to him or a bridesmaid. I am more than happy to photograph everything you want on the day but I cannot be held responsible for missed photos if I haven’t been asked to shoot them.

Below is a general guideline of photos to expect, again you might be happy to have less of the images listed below which is absolutely fine as long as I know this beforehand.

Preparation shots
Bride getting ready with girls.
Bride alone.
Bride and bridesmaids.
Bride with parents.
Walking or arriving at the church.
*If the boys are getting ready at the same venue then I will also include the boys here, otherwise I will get the boys at the church waiting.
The wedding vows and signing of the register.
Outside the church guests and newly weds congratulations and confetti!
Bride and Groom with parents of the bride.
Bride and groom with parents of the groom.
Bride and groom with brides family.
Bride and groom with grooms family.
Bridal party together.
Groom and grooms men
Bride and bridesmaids.

Other combinations from here include just the bridal party and bride and groom alone.
I also include shots of the table set ups, menu cards and guests mingling.
