One of the best terraces to view Rome
Situated in the heart of Rome, a very popular venue for Irish, English and Norwegian weddings is the Hotel Savoy Rome.
The Hotel Savoy

A lovely space to chill with a glass of prosecco and some munchies. For smaller groups, it’s also possible to eat on the roof or the restaurant below which is also a terrace but partially enclosed. The menus tend to work for the fussier eaters coming from their home cooking and it doesn’t stray too far from the norm. After cutting the cake you can dance the night away on the roof under the stars and twinkling lights of the city.
It’s a short walk away from the beautiful St.Isidores church and very often this is where the bride and groom will get ready prior to their wedding, many walking to the church and back.
I have also photographed a beautiful symbolic wedding on the roof in early spring. Lots of sunshine but not too hot to sit outside.

Overall its a laid back and relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. Neither snobby nor pretentious like some Rome hotels, so you and your wedding guests will be made feel very welcome. The Spanish steps and Borghese gardens are a 5-minute walk away. I love the Savoy in Rome, especially the staff and again these are my personal opinions.

Below follows a few testimonials from my lovely brides who celebrated their weddings at The Hotel Savoy Rome in 2017.
Jenny from Ireland

We had a great experience with the Savoy. Diana was our coordinator, she and her team were very responsive to my (many) emails and requests. We were delighted with how the terrace and rooftop looked. Our guests are still raving about the plentiful and delicious food and the attentiveness of the staff.

Ingrid from Norway

Our experience regarding wedding at Hotel Savoy. Good and easy communication with the hotel and the event manager Diana throughout the time before the wedding. They gave us some options regarding menus and packages, and they were helpful making suggestions if it was something we wanted different.

We arrived in Rome 5 days before our wedding, and on the day before the wedding, we got to check the venue even though they were busy preparing for the other party. It was calming to see that the view and the location were as nice as on photos. We also got to leave behind table cards and wedding favours for our guests, which the hotel placed out on our table as requested.

We felt like we were in good hands, and that was comforting on our wedding day. Aperitivo on 7th-floor terrace with a wonderful view of Rome set a nice start for the evening, followed by a lovely dinner with delicious food and good wine at the 6th-floor terrace, and back to the 7th floor after for drinks to end the evening. We were very pleased with our experience of Hotel Savoy, and all our wedding guests were too 🙂
