If you are getting married during the winter months it is a good idea to think of a wedding wrap or cardigan to keep you warm but still be able to show off the dress.
There are a lot of options and ideas such as a delicate wool shawl worn by one of my November brides who celebrated her wedding in Rome which will be used again as a christening shawl!
I have seen some beautiful wraps, capes and faux fur shrugs. Easy to slip on over your shoulders and when inside you can throw them off and show off your dress.

It is also a good idea for weddings in Italy as most Catholic churches in Italy require you to cover up your shoulders as a mark of respect. This rule applies to your bridesmaids too. Another very pretty option is a cute cardigan over your wedding dress and not necessarily white, keeps you warm and adds another dimension to your overall look.

You can also consider this for spring weddings as it can get quite chilly in the evenings during April and May in central Italy.
