Flower Power – Wedding Bouquets & Flowers.
Well, my first blog post of the 2014, and hopefully it will prove to be a happy, healthy and busy New Year for us all.
It is cold and wet outside today so I would like to share some of my favorite pictures of wedding flowers and maybe give you a few tips. I love nothing more than a pretty wedding bouquet, for me it’s all about colours and the simpler the better.
Some people are not too fussy and are happy to leave it in the hands of their florist and often have no idea what they are getting until the day of their wedding. However, I think it’s a good idea to give them some input.

I have had to take apart several button holes for the guys at the church for different reasons, way too big or wrapped in tinfoil! It does ruin a photo if your man’s in his best ever suit and has a bunch of flowers sticking to his chest! Also if you don’t like things like ferns or gypsophila (baby’s breath) in your bouquet then tell your florist. You don’t want to be pulling it apart on the day of your wedding, and yes this has happened.
Remember that your bouquet will be a big part of your wedding photos, and in fact will be in most of them so just keep it simple you want to set off your dress, bridesmaids and boys; your wedding dress deserves the best flowers.
I am told the rose is from Lazio so is easy to find as with most flowers you get in the UK and Ireland. I still put Debraflower as my favourite florist for Rome and surrounding areas. She will be more than happy to give you advice. Keep in mind the summer heat in central Italy can be quite fierce, it is a good idea to check with your florist that your bouquet will stand up to it, you don’t want a pooper!
This year I fell in love with the broach bouquet, several of my brides had them and I think they are a really beautiful idea. Here are some of my favourite flowers from my lovely weddings.
