One ring to rule them, a short but very sweet Norwegian wedding in Rome
Another very cool couple from Norway, Mai-Britt and Torkel married at the Sala Rossa of Campidoglio in the heart of Rome. They are big fans of the Lord of the Rings and they added some quirky touches from the groom’s Lorien leaf brooch and the bride’s entrance to the theme tune “Concerning Hobbits”.
“One ring to rule them all. One ring to find them. One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them“
Gandalf the Grey
Mai-Brit wore a beautiful bohemian style dress with a crochet halter neck and carried an oversized bouquet with a pretty, big flower crown in her hair. Torkel wore a skinny burgundy suit and kept his hair in a tight little bun! After the civil ceremony, we enjoyed the area of Campidoglio with views of the old forum and old roman monuments.
Then headed to the Orange garden with panoramic views over Rome and some quiet time away from the tourists. A final stroll through the old cobbled streets of Trastevere with its crumbling walls arched passageways and graffiti-covered doors gave us loads of great photo opportunities. I loved everything about this wedding because they broke all the rules It was quirky and unconventional and best of all it was different.
