Rome is a great location for your wedding and is well connected to the rest of the world with two main airports making it a very popular choice for an Italian destination wedding. Whether it’s an elopement or a family affair you will be spoiled by the impressive ruins, buzzing street life and of course the food and wine. For those who might find it daunting to organise your wedding in Rome, it is really pretty easy, having the right connections and good links and information on venues, the only hard part is organising the paperwork.

For Catholic weddings, the Irish churches are very accommodating and offer helpful assistance with your preparation. For a civil wedding, we can recommend a translator for the paperwork and interpreter for the wedding ceremony. There are many beautiful churches to choose from if you plan on having a religious ceremony. Also, we have three wedding halls if you decide on a civil ceremony. Campidoglio wedding Hall, also known as the Sala Rossa, Caracalla wedding hall and Villa Lais wedding hall. For something more intimate and private there are many hotels with rooftop terraces offering panoramic views of the city and villas with private gardens that can accommodate a symbolic ceremony.

Once married we can find many scenic spots for some incredible backdrops. Think of a glass of prosecco overlooking the Colosseum or we can escape the very busy tourist sites and find a secret garden or cobbled street. There is something to suit everyone in Rome and with a bit of careful research and planning, you can choose your reception anywhere from a local family-run restaurant a luxury hotel with a rooftop terrace or an exclusive Villa. For a smaller group or elopement, there are some fabulous Michelin star restaurants where you can experience stunning views of Rome, and amazing ‘Cucina Romana’ trattoria where you can sample the very best local Roman cuisine the city has to offer. I like to start the story from when you are getting ready. To capture the excitement and preparation before leaving for the church. Some pretty portraits and details of your dress, shoes and flowers. Depending on where you will have your wedding I often leave before the bride to capture the groom and best man waiting at the church.

I will capture your wedding vows and ring exchange and will keep a discreet and respectable distance between you and your priest. I work quietly and unobtrusively and do not use flash. I don’t like to set up groups and families inside the church. Weather permitting I like to get you all outside where the light is more flattering and we have more relaxed space to work with.
