A beautiful wedding in Florence for Irish couple Sarah and Shane

A beautiful wedding day in Florence for Irish couple Sarah and Shane in September 2017. Sarah and Shane travelled from Dublin along with their guests for their wedding in Florence, Tuscany. Sarah was kind enough to share some of her wedding story, and her planning for her destination wedding in Tuscany. I bought my dress in the bridal studio in Drogheda. My sister in law worked in the shop at the time, she was great at helping me pick the style, it was the first shop I went too, and I was clueless. We found the villa Cora on out first trip to Florence, we just fell in love with it straight away and although we checked out other venues we just kept coming back to the villa. Finding the church was more difficult as you can not legally get married in the churches in Florence unless you’re a local. For a while, we thought about having a civil ceremony and planned on having the ceremony in the gardens of the Villa Cora. This would have been lovely but I had my heart set on a church and I was worried that there would be rain.

Every single time I’ve been to Florence I’ve been rained on. We were chatting with a staff member in the villa Cora one day and they mentioned a famous monastery that had changed management and was considering doing weddings. We had rented a car and found the monastery quite easily. We ended up doing the tour and were blown away by how beautiful it was, so as soon as we got home we made contact and were so happy when they said they could legally marry us there. Both places worked out perfectly and were more than we ever could have wished for. It was just the perfect day for us and we loved every minute.
