Sophie and Oliver’s Summer wedding at Borgo di Tragliata in Rome

This Summer wedding at Borgo di Tragliata was all about the Party! A full-on celebration, kicking back with lots of friends and family in the beautiful Borgo di Tragliata. From getting ready to eventually hitting that dance floor, it was an absolute blast. The bridesmaids looked very pretty in pink, their hair in messy up-dos with flawless makeup their skirts blowing in the gentle breeze.

Giddy with excitement sipping on prosecco and keeping us all caught up in the drama. Sophie’s hair was big soft twisted and pinned up with a few loose curls falling around her shoulders. A couple of flowers woven in to give it a real bohemian look, and the makeup so natural and beautiful making those green eyes POP! She just glowed. The boys looked savvy and handsome in their sharp blue suits with their slim cut trousers. A swift pint at the bar was needed to cool down before walking down to the lovely big garden where guests were also making their way to the sweet acoustic sounds of the musical duo Akira Manera. Sophie’s bouquet was a big unconstructed bunch of assorted greenery , Lisianthus, dahlia tiny garden roses and astilbe. The bridesmaids flowers were round simple bunches of baby’s breath surrounded with olive greens.

The girls looked amazing dresses blowing in the breeze and sweeping across the grass before Sophie arrived in the Borgo’s little red Fiat with her Dad. We had a lot of laughs taking photos in between mingling with their guests and enjoying the delicious food. Everything was set up outside lots of fresh flowers, playful details under strings of fairy lights. And then from nowhere the clouds rolled in the sky went black the wind kicked up, so everything went back in again! We expected the worst but for some miraculous reason, it all blew over. And so the party continued more wine, lots of food and the best speech I have ever heard at a wedding by her mum reading a letter Sophie wrote when she was very little. I remembered it involved asking for a kitten. The food was served, the glasses topped up and the cake was cut before eventually hitting that dance floor. Sophie changed into her party skirt and let her hair down and they both showed some very groovy moves on that dance floor. The party had officially started! Sophie and Oliver, you were such a laugh, thank you for letting me share a part of your day.

A message from Sophie

So many amazing memories from my Summer wedding at Borgo di Tragliata, I don’t even know how to sum it up! But all I can say it was literally the most fun we had in 24 hours in our entire lives! I don’t think we stopped smiling and laughing!! I also swore I wouldn’t drink Aperol or red wine in my dress (two of my fave drinks) and the first drink handed to me was an Aperol, it was all in from there!! The band are called The Chunks and they’re from Scotland and they’re MAD! But so awesome, we didn’t stop dancing. We both ended up crowd surfing later in the night too haha just brilliant from start to finish. A lot of my friends who are getting married now literally the biggest piece of advice I give them when they start asking about flowers, invites, dresses etc is don’t worry about anything else just HAVE FUN! Because genuinely that’s all I remember from mine and it made our day just perfect!

I remember thinking I’m going to sob my eyes out all day but I genuinely couldn’t stop smiling it really was the happiest day of our lives! I also thought I should mention I made my bridesmaid get up at 6.30am for yoga hahaha most of who were severely hungover – think that was possibly my only bridezilla moment making them do that with me (we’re all allowed one right!!) I’ll send you a picture actually as it was so beautiful watching the sunrise – I remember stood on the balcony the morning of around 6am being unbelievably excited to be getting married that day. It was so peaceful and everyone was still in bed (including my now husband who had only got to bed about an hour before that haha). As for the rain, the setting outside was just magical, we had SO many compliments on where we ate dinner and with the storms the day before and after it wasn’t looking promising. However I was determined to wait it out, which meant MORE alcohol while people waited which people seemed extremely welcoming of! Haha and by some miracle it didn’t rain and it was just amazing. I really do believe someone was looking out for us that day because I have no idea how we didn’t get an entire downpour again !! Gosh, can we go back and do it all again? Haha were genuinely thinking we might throw a big party there for our 10 year anniversary! (not to wish time away or anything haha).
