Wedding in Assisi Umbria for Alessia & Miles at Castello di Petrata

A brilliant, fun and happy wedding day on the hills overlooking Assisi

After 20 long months and a change of date, Alessia and Miles from the UK eventually got to celebrate their wedding day in our beautiful Umbria. Their chosen venue Casale di Pietrata sits high on the hills overlooking Assisi and the sunny late September weather meant the garden was perfect for their outdoor ceremony with fantastic panoramic views of the valley below. The vibe was totally laid back and so easygoing. No-fuss and a lot of laughs.

Alessia looked absolutely stunning wearing a beautiful strapless Daniel Fielding wedding dress with loads of lovely layers and the prettiest long trailing veil embellished with lots of little flowers. A beautiful bouquet of soft cream roses ,Lisianthus and olive greens completed the look. The boys kept it casual, Miles wore a beautiful blue custom made suit. Something I haven’t seen before were the beautiful silk pocket squares ( and not Hankies!) depicting old paintings. A colourful touch to their smart blue jackets like wearing a piece of art in your pocket.

It was such a beautiful wedding and guests enjoyed their aperitifs outside on the lawns then dinner at sunset on the pretty terrace with lots of emotional and very witty speeches. I loved the décor in the dancing room with lots of little fairy lights hanging from the ceiling and a cool cocktail bar. It was a brilliant day from start to finish and it felt so good having the freedom to capture these two in their element without any fuss or rules. Living in the moment that’s what makes your photos invaluable.
