A fine dining experience at this wedding in Cortona on a panoramic dining terrace
The preparations for this wedding in Cortona began at the beautiful Hotel San Michele, an old fifteenth-century building in the centre of Cortona a few steps from the main square and a walk away from Cortona Cathedral on Piazza del Duomo where the wedding took place.
While we all made our way to the church on foot Eva and her dad made a very glamorous arrival in an Italian “Piaggio Ape” lovingly converted and decorated with Irish flags and bows. The Cathedral is stunning with beautiful light streaming through the doors. It is also spacious and cool on those hot summer days and has panoramic views of the valley below.
A traditional Irish exit from the church included the hurleys and a blast of confetti. A wander through the streets and a glass of prosecco in the piazza before heading the short distance just outside of the town to the beautiful country resort and restaurant “Relais Il Falconiere”.
A stunningly elegant and peaceful location with fabulous views across the open countryside. It has a truly real magical feel about it. Guests enjoyed an aperitivo outside in the gardens and enjoyed dinner in the open courtyard as the sunset under the open Tuscan sky. The restaurant boasts the only Michelin star in the province of Arezzo.
The visual appearance of the many dishes that were served was mouthwatering, The food arrived beautifully plated. Each dish like a little work of art of colour and texture exposing every detail and ingredient to pristine perfection. Without a doubt a fine dining experience on a panoramic terrace. Our wedding day overall is so difficult to put into words!! I still get goosebumps thinking back on it, we had such an incredibly wonderful time, even when I flick through the wedding album you produced for us I get transported back to our wedding day and it’s just so surreal! Relais Il Falconiere were so easy to deal with, Deborah is excellent at her job and went over and above in many ways by giving me various contact details for churches, priests, bands & DJ’s etc, which made the overall planning of our wedding pretty easy, to be honest.”
Our experience on the day began with a very stylish and tasty Aperitif underneath the trees, followed by the most amazing 5-course meal, with exceptional service in a very poised fashion. Our cake was made by their own pastry chef and was just delicious, some of our guests had seconds & even thirds!!”
Our wines which came from the vineyard were paired with our food by their sommelier and our after party was perfectly catered for allowing our guests to really just kick back and enjoy themselves. To be honest, we couldn’t have asked for more!”
